CPI Gen Secy D Raja’s Wife Annie Raja to Contest from Wayanad, Now Held by Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Monday announced that senior leader Annie Raja will be the party’s candidate for the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala. This seat is now held by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Annie Raja is the wife of CPI general secretary D Raja. She is a member of the national executive of the CPI. She is also the general secretary of the National Federation of Indian Women, CPI’s women’s wing.

The Congress party has not yet announced its candidates but Rahul Gandhi is most likely to contest from Wayanad and fight against Annie Raja.

There is also buzz around that Rahul Gandhi may contest from both Wayanad and Amethi.

The CPI has announced candidates on four Lok Sabha seats in Kerala.

Former CPI MP Pannian Raveendran will contest from Thiruvananthapuram, a seat represented by Congress stalwart Shashi Tharoor.

CPI youth wing AIYF leader CA Arunkumar will contest from Mavelikkara, while former agriculture minister VS Sunil Kumar has been fielded from Thrissur.
