4, Including 3 Workers of Imran Khan’s Party Killed in Bomb Blast Near PTI Rally in Pakistan

Balochistan: A bomb blast rocked a political rally in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province on Tuesday, killing four people and injuring several others. The attack, which targeted supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), comes just days before crucial general elections.

The blast occurred during a rally organized by PTI-backed candidate Saddam Tareen in the Sibi district. Graphic footage captured the moment of the explosion, showing party members scrambling in panic after a loud bang.

Initial reports suggest four fatalities, including three PTI workers, confirmed by party leader Salar Khan Kakar. The injured, some critical, were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Sibi. Dr. Babar, the hospital’s medical superintendent, stated that five individuals received treatment, though this figure appears inconsistent with other reports.

Kakar condemned the “heartbreaking incident” and demanded action against the perpetrators, urging authorities to focus on combating terrorism rather than targeting PTI workers.

This attack adds to the volatile atmosphere surrounding the upcoming February 8th elections. The Election Commission of Pakistan has taken notice of the incident and demanded an immediate report from provincial officials.
