Delhi High Court Denies Protection From Arrest to Kejriwal For Now

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday denied providing any interim protection from coercive action to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summonses issued to him in the Delhi excise policy case.

Earlier on Thursday, Arvind Kejriwal filed a fresh plea seeking assurance from the ED that no arrest would be made if he complied with the multiple summons.

In his petition to the court, he said, “The Enforcement Directorate should give assurance before the court that it will take no coercive action against me if I comply with the summons.”

“We are not inclined to grant an interim relief,” the court said, seeking a response from the probe agency on this fresh interim plea and listed the matter for hearing on April 22.
