Strong Tremors Jolt Delhi NCR as Massive 6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Nepal

New Delhi: Two significant earthquakes struck Nepal today, causing massive tremors that were felt in Delhi and various parts of Northern India. The first earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.6, occurred at a depth of 5 kilometers and struck Nepal at 2:25 pm. Shortly after, at 2:51 pm, a more powerful quake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale shook the region.

The National Centre for Seismology reported, “Earthquake of Magnitude: 6.2, Occurred on 03-10-2023, 14:51:04 IST, Lat: 29.39 & Long: 81.23, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Nepal.”

The seismic activity in Nepal reverberated through Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), causing buildings to sway and residents to evacuate. Additionally, tremors were reported in Lucknow, Hapur, and Amroha in Uttar Pradesh, as well as parts of Uttarakhand.

Videos capturing people rushing out of buildings quickly circulated on social media as the quake’s impact rippled across the affected regions.
