Dentist Running Drug Racket Arrested in Jajpur Along With 2 Associates

Jajpur: A dentist, who was allegedly running a drug racket, was arrested by police in Odisha’s Jajpur town. Two drug peddlers, allegedly used by the dentist to sell brown sugar, were also arrested by Jajpur police.

The arrested dentist was identified as Nigamananda Khatua, who ran a dental clinic at Mahabir Nagar in Jajpur town.

This drug racket came to fore, when Jajpur town police nabbed Sandip Kumar Mallick and Rakhyakar Dikshit, while they were selling brown sugar near Sundarei Muhan Chhak on Wednesday.

During interrogation, the arrested drug peddlers revealed that the dentist was the kingpin of the drug racket.

Police seized 25.2 gm of brown sugar, worth around Rs 2.5 lakh, seized from the arrested persons.
