Diarrhoea Outbreak in Rourkela, 4 Dead, Over 100 Affected

Rourkela: The diarrhoea outbreak in Odisha’s steel city Rourkela is reported to have claimed at least four lives and over a 100 affected people have fallen ill because of it.

As per reports, the victims of diarrhoea in Rourkela are Glasan Samant (38) and Phultoli Goud (23) of Panposh and Ahalya Nayak (70) and Nanaci Dubey (75) of Udit Nagar area.

According to sources, during the past two days over 100 diarrhoea patients from different parts of Rourkela have been to the RGH hospital.

The majority of the diarrhoea cases were reported from the slums of the city. People living in Panposh, Udit Nagar, Chhend and city outskirts, were also affected by the disease.

Samples have been sent for laboratory tests to ascertain the reason behind this diarrhoea outbreak. Additional beds are being arranged in the RGH to treat the diarrhoea patients.
