Diwali Gift for Central Govt Employees, 4% DA Hike Approved by Union Cabinet

New Delhi: The Central cabinet is reported to have approved a proposal for 4 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for the central government employees and pensioners. It will be a pre-Diwali gift to them.

According to sources, the Union cabinet in a meeting on Wednesday approved the decision of the DA hike.

The Central government had hiked the DA of employees and pensioners in March 2023.

The cabinet is also reported to have cleared the proposal to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for six rabi crops, including wheat and masur by up to 7 per cent.
