DSP of Jammu & Kashmir Arrested for Terror Links

New Delhi: A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) was arrested in Jammu and Kashmir for his alleged links with a terror operative.

The arrested DSP Sheikh Aadil Mushtaq is alleged to have helped a terrorist to escape arrest. He is also accused of attempting to implicate an investigating police officer in a false case.

The erring DSP was arrested on multiple charges including corruption. The police say Aadil Mushtaq had taken Rs 5 lakh from the terrorist.

The Deputy Superintendent had even drafted a false complaint on behalf of a terror accused to implicate the investigation officer in a terror funding case, in which three accused were arrested in February and one was on the run.

He was produced before a magistrate in Srinagar who sent him to police custody for six days.

A five-member Special Investigation Team has been formed to investigate the case against Aadil Mushtaq, the police said.
