ED Summons Kapil Sharma, Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan in Betting App Case

Mumbai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned actors Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan for allegedly promoting an online betting app, and comedian Kapil Sharma for attending the app’s success party in Dubai.

Ranbir Kapoor, who was summoned earlier in the same case, has sought more time from the ED to appear before it in person. The ED is yet to decide on his request.

Several top Bollywood actors and singers are under the probe agency’s scanner in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Mahadev online betting case.

The company, promoted by Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, was being operated from Dubai. The ED alleged that the firm used the online book betting application to enrol new users, create IDs and launder money through a layered web of benami bank accounts.

The Enforcement Directorate, along with multiple state police departments, is actively investigating this case to uncover any illegal activities related to the Mahadev Book app.
