Land-for-Jobs Scam: ED Issues Fresh Summons to Lalu Prasad, Son Tejashwi Yadav

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday issued fresh summons to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad and his son, Tejashwi Yadav, who also serves as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar. The summons requires them to appear for questioning at the ED’s Patna office in connection with a money laundering case related to the alleged exchange of railways land-for-jobs. Official sources disclosed this information on Friday.

Lalu Prasad has been summoned to depose on January 29, while Tejashwi has been called the following day on January 30. A team from the ED visited the official residence of Prasad’s wife, former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, in Patna to deliver the summons. The duo had previously skipped earlier summonses related to this case. They are now required to appear at the ED office on Bank Road in the capital.

The money laundering case under investigation is linked to the period when Lalu Prasad held the position of Railway Minister in the UPA-1 government. The ED is actively pursuing the matter, and the fresh summonses indicate a renewed focus on the investigation.
