Bihar Political Turmoil: Tejashwi Yadav Predicts JD(U)’s Demise in 2024 After Nitish-BJP Reunion

Patna: The political landscape of Bihar took a dramatic turn on Sunday as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, leader of the Janata Dal (United) or JD(U), severed ties with his Mahagathbandhan allies and realigned with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This unexpected move sparked strong reactions, most notably from Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, who prophesied the JD(U)’s downfall in 2024.

Reacting to Nitish Kumar’s decision, Yadav asserted that “the game has just begun” and promised a decisive public response. He declared with conviction, “I can give you in writing that the JD(U) party will be finished in 2024.”

Emphasizing public support for his party, the RJD leader expressed gratitude to the BJP for welcoming the JD(U) into their fold. He further remarked, “We formed the Mahagathbandhan government with hope, and Nitish Kumar himself articulated the objectives back then. Now, he has betrayed that vision and the people will not forget.”

Yadav did not shy away from criticizing his former ally. He called Nitish Kumar a “tired CM” with no vision and highlighted the RJD’s role in driving development under the Mahagathbandhan. “We showed him it was possible to create jobs,” Yadav stated, highlighting achievements in tourism, IT, and sports during their 17-month tenure.
