Electoral Bonds Data Released on Election Commission Website

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India on Thursday uploaded the data of the electoral bonds given to it by the State Bank of India on its official website, a day before the deadline set by the Supreme Court.

Under the court’s order, the poll panel was required to publish the details received from SBI on its website by 5 pm on March 15. The published data encompasses the acquisition of now-defunct electoral bonds ranging from denominations of Rs 1,000 to Rs 1 crore, commencing from April 12, 2019. Noteworthy is that the information encompasses purchases made by both corporate entities and individuals.

Interested individuals can access this information on the Election Commission’s official website.

The SBI dutifully submitted to the poll body the particulars of entities that procured the now-nullified electoral bonds and the political parties that received them on Tuesday evening. This submission is in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directive to furnish the necessary information.

In compliance with the Supreme Court’s directives outlined in its orders dated February 15 and March 11, 2024, regarding WPC NO.880 of 2017, the Election Commission conveyed on social media (formerly known as Twitter) that it had received the electoral bonds data from the State Bank of India on March 12, 2024.
