England’s Rehan Ahmed Flies back Home Before 4th Test, To be Out of Rest of Series

Ranchi: England’s star spinner Rehan Ahmed flew back home before the start of the 4th Test against India in Ranchi. Shoaib Bashir was included in the England team in his place.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in a statement, gave the reason behind Rehan’s decision to fly back home, suggesting the spinner had a personal emergency to deal with.

“Rehan Ahmed will return home for personal reasons. He will not be returning to India and we will not be naming a replacement,” a post from ECB read.

As for the 4th Test, Ben Stokes’ England won the toss and decided to bat first against Rohit Sharma-led India in the fourth Test match at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Bowler Akash Deep made his debut for India as the 313th player to play Test cricket for India.
