Ranchi: An unbeaten 72-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Shubman Gill (52 not out) and Dhruv Jurel (39 not out) made India beat England by five wickets in the fourth Test in Ranchi, to clinch the Test series. India have taken an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series.
India lost two wickets after post-lunch. Resuming from their overnight score of 40 for no loss, captain Rohit Sharma scored a half-century before England spinners slowed their progress and at a time India were 120 for 5.
But Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel showed immense composure to see India through. The duo put on an unbeaten 72 for the sixth wicket.
