First Meeting of Ram Nath Kovind Led ‘One Nation One Election’ Committee on September 23

Bhubaneswar: The high-level committee constituted to examine and make recommendations for holding simultaneous polls for states and the center will hold its first meeting on September 23, said former president Ram Nath Kovind in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

Kovind heads this committee. He was in Bhubaneswar to to attend the convocation of a private university.

On September 2, the Union government notified the eight-member committee headed by Kovind to examine and make recommendations for holding simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha, state assemblies, municipalities and panchayats.

“The first meeting will take place on September 23,” Kovind told reporters in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
