Girl Attacks and Injures Parents With Knife For Opposing Mobile Phone Use in Balasore

Balasore: A girl turned violent and attacked her parents with a knife at Hatigadiya village under Soro police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district on Monday night, when they protested against her mobile phone use.

According to reports, Kuni Singh (20), attacked and injured her father Ranjit Singh (38) and mother Buduni Singh (32). Kuni is married but has been living with her parents for the past two years.

As per locals, on Monday night Ranjit and Buduni objected to Kuni’s mobile phone use.

Kuni was allegedly irked by her parents’ rebuke and attacked her mother with a knife. Buduni was seriously injured. Ranjit was also injured while trying to save Buduni.

Ranjit suffered knife wounds on his abdomen and hands. Buduni sustained deep wounds on her hands and head.

Neighbours rescued the couple and called up the police. Soro Police arrived at the spot and the injured couple was rushed to the Soro Community Health Center (CHC) in a critical condition.

​The police have detained Kuni Singh.
