Hindu Temple’s Idols Vandalized in Bangladesh

The idols worshipped at the Niamat Pur Durga temple, located in Niamatpur village Bangladesh’s Brahmanbaria district was vandalized by a man. This incident on Thursday night led to anguish among the local Hindu community.

As per reports, the locals assisted the Bangladeshi police to catch the accused named Khalil Mia.

According to Jagdish Das, the President of Niamatpur Sarvajanin Durga Temple, the sudden act of vandalism sparked anger and discontent among the members of the local Hindu community, reported India Today.

Khalil Mia resorted to this act when he had come to his sister’s house in Niamatpur village.  It is alleged that following a quarrel with some locals, he vandalized five to six idols within the Durga temple.
