Husband Awarded Death Sentence by Bhubaneswar Court for Killing Wife, Slitting Throat of Daughter

Bhubaneswar: A man named Sanjit Das was awarded death penalty for killing his wife and slitting throat of his daughter by the Sessions Court in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

This gruesome murder occurred on June 9, 2022 in Ghatikia area under Khandagiri police station limits. Sanjit killed his wife, Saraswati Das as she had refused to give him money to buy liquor. He stabbed her 33 times leading to her death on the spot.

Then he also attempted to kill his daughter, Shree Das by slitting her throat.

The court examined 15 witnesses to convict the man and punish him with the death sentence.
