Srinagar: Security forces unearthed an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) like object on Srinagar-Baramulla Highway in the Pattan area of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
Following this discovery, the traffic on the Srinagar-Baramulla national highway was temporarily suspended for some time. As per reports, the suspected IED packed in a bag was traced out by the security forces at Hanjiveera on the national highway.
Authorities halted highway traffic and called in a bomb disposal squad to safely defuse the IED, ensuring public safety.
The bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and neutralized the IED through a controlled explosion.
