IIT Madras Alumni Pavan Davuluri is New Head of Microsoft Windows

IIT Madras alumni Pavan Davuluri was appointed as the new head of Microsoft Windows and Surface.

Davuluri succeeds Panos Panay, who previously led the department and left to join Amazon in 2023.

Microsoft has divided the Windows and Surface groups, each under separate leadership. Earlier, Davuluri managed Surface silicone work while Mikhail Parakhin led the Windows department.

As Parakhin’s decided to explore “new roles”, Davuluri will now head both Windows and Surface.

Davuluri graduated from the IIT Madras. Now he joins the ranks of Indians in leadership roles in tech companies in the US, alongside figures like Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella.

Davuluri is with Microsoft for over 23 years. He joined the company after his post graduation from University of Maryland.
