13 Dead, Several Injured as Israel Strikes School, Residential Building in Gaza

Gaza: At least 13 Palestinians were killed and 15 others injured in Israeli airstrikes on a school and a residential building in Gaza, according to WAFA, the Palestinian Authority’s official news agency.

The strikes targeted Halima al-Sa’diyya School in Jabalia, northern Gaza, where at least eight people died while sheltering in refugee tents.

The Israeli military confirmed the attack, stating it was a “precise strike on terrorists” operating within a Hamas command centre at the former school.

In a separate incident, five Palestinians were killed in a strike on a residential building in Nuseirat camp, central Gaza.

The latest escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict follows an October 7 attack last year, when Hamas militants killed 1,200 Israelis and took 250 hostages.

Israel’s ongoing offensive has since claimed over 40,800 Palestinian lives, as reported by the health ministry. Nearly 2.3 million residents of Gaza have been displaced, with severe humanitarian consequences, including a hunger crisis. Israel denies genocide allegations currently under review at the World Court.

The UN estimates that 1.9 million people in Gaza are now internally displaced, with many forced to move multiple times.
