Japan Downgrades ‘Major Tsunami Warning’ To ‘Tsunami Warning’ For Noto Region

Tokyo: Japan has downgraded the alert status for the Noto Region from a ‘Major Tsunami Warning’ to a ‘Tsunami Warning’ after a series of 21 earthquakes, each registering a magnitude of 4.0 or higher, struck central Japan within a span of 90 minutes. The most powerful quake recorded reached a magnitude of 7.6, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.

Following the seismic activity, tsunami warnings were issued, prompting authorities to advise residents in the affected areas to relocate to higher ground. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida also urged immediate evacuation for those residing in the impacted regions.
