Jilted Lover Shoots Dead Girl After Molesting Her in Market in UP

Lucknow: A 20-year-old youth allegedly shot dead a 17-year-old girl after trying to molest her in a market in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut on Monday.

According to police sources, the accused identified as Usman Malik was the jilt lover of the deceased girl. The girl resisted Malik’s advances when she was on her way to a store. Irked by it, the accused shot her with a country-made revolver.

Although the locals and the girl’s family members reached the spot, the accused managed to abscond. They staged a blockade at the market demanding the arrest of the culprit and refused to hand over the body to the police for post-mortem.

Meerut police have formed two teams to nab the culprit.
