Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh Takes Oath as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court

Cuttack: Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court on Wednesday.

At a ceremony held on the premises of the Orissa High Court, Governor Raghubar Das administered the oath of office to Justice Singh.

Earlier this month, President Droupadi Murmu after consultation with DY Chandrachud, Chief Justice of India, had appointed Justice Singh as the new Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.

Justice Subhasis Talapatra had retired as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court on October 3, 2023. After that, Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi was serving as the Acting Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.

Justice Singh was functioning as a judge at the Patna High Court since 2012. He assumed the charge as Acting Chief Justice, Patna High Court in 2023.

Justice Singh, who was appointed as a judge of the High Court of Judicature at Patna on April 5 2012, has been acting as the senior-most judge. He was enrolled at the Bar in 1990 and practised at the High Court of Judicature at Patna, dealing with constitutional, service, criminal, and arbitration matters.

He has also served as the Additional Advocate General for Bihar.
