Kolkata Doctor Sexually Assaulted Before Murder in Govt Medical College Hospital

Kolkata: A woman postgraduate trainee doctor at the state-run Kar Medical College and Hospital in West Bengal’s Kolkata was sexually assaulted before being murdered, confirmed her autopsy report.

Police have arrested one person for his alleged involvement in the murder of the female doctor. The arrested man was an outsider having free access to the different departments of the medical college hospital.

As part of the ongoing investigation, police interrogated two intern doctors on Friday night.

The semi-nude body of the female postgraduate trainee (PGT) doctor was found inside the seminar hall of the government medical college hospital in Kolkata on Friday.

The deceased was a second-year student of the chest medicine department. She was on duty on Thursday night.

Citing the injury marks on her body, her father had earlier alleged that she was raped and murdered inside Kar Medical College and Hospital. Now preliminary autopsy report has confirmed sexual assault on the female woman doctor before she was murdered.
