Lalu’s Daughter Rohini Acharya, Who Donated Kidney to Him, To Make Electoral Debut

Patna: Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya, who donated one of her kidneys to the RJD leader, is planning to make her Lok Sabha election debut from Bihar’s Saran seat.

As per reports, this 44-year-old daughter of Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi would be their fourth child to enter politics. Lalu’s son Tejashwi Yadav is the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and RJD head. Two other sons, Tej Pratap Yadav and Misha Bharti, are members of the Bihar Assembly and Rajya Sabha, respectively.

Recently Sunil Kumar Singh, a MLA of Bihar known to be close to the Yadav family posted on X, “Dr Rohini Acharya symbolises love, devotion and dedication to her father. All party functionaries of the Saran area want her to be named the party’s Lok Sabha candidate for Saran.”

Rohini Acharya was also seen at an RJD rally in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan earlier in March.

The Saran Lok Sabha seat was earlier represented by Lalu Prasad Yadav. It is now held by BJP’s Rajiv Pratap Rudy.

Rohini Acharya is a doctor by profession and married a software engineer Samresh Singh in 2002. Over the past two decades, she and her husband along with their two sons have lived in Singapore and the US. She donated one of her kidneys to the ailing Lalu Prasad Yadav in 2022. Her selfless act was praised by all including political rivals like BJP’s Giriraj Singh and Dr Nishikant Dubey.
