Landmine Blast Near LoC Injures 3 Jawans in Jammu & Kashmir

Srinagar: Three jawans of the Indian Army were in a landmine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Wednesday.

The explosion occurred while the army personnel were patrolling the Phagwari Gali area in Mendhar sector near the LoC.

The injured were transported to a nearby medical centre. Two of the injured were later shifted to a military hospital in Rajouri. To check infiltration attempts from Pakistan side, landmines are planted in the forward areas near the LoC. Because of the rains, at times some landmines get washed away causing such accidents.
