Leopard Kills 8-Yr-Old Girl in UP

Lucknow: A leopard killed an eight-year-old girl near the Suhelwa forest of Bhagwanpur Kodar village in Uttar Pradesh. The mutilated body of the victim was found near the forest.

The victim named Anushka was taken away by the wild leopard while was out to play in the village on Sunday.

When the leopard, hiding in the bushes, took her away, her friends screamed to call up for help. The villagers chased the leopard to rescue the child but the animal disappeared in the jungle along with the child.

During a search operation, forest officials found her mutilated body.

Following this incident, the administration has ordered to set up cages to trap the maneater big cat. Forest officials are searching for the leopard with the help of villagers in and around the sugarcane fields. Traps have been laid to capture the animal.
