Maize Farmer Shoots Down Cowherd in Kandhamal

Phulbani: A maize grower shot dead a cowherd in Brahmanigaon area in Kandhamal district on Friday because some cattle of the deceased had entered the farmer’s field.

The deceased was identified as Madi Padra. The accused Akash Padra was arrested by personnel of Brahmanigaon police station.

Akash shot at Madi with a countrymade gun in anger when Madi’s cattle allegedly damaged his maize farm.

When the cowherd did not return back home, his family members searched for him and located his bullet-ridden body in the maize field of Akash.

Receiving information, Brahmanigaon police arrested Akash.
