Mamata Mohanta Files Nomination for Rajya Sabha Bypoll

Bhubaneswar: Mamata Mohanta filed her nomination papers on Wednesday at the Odisha Assembly for the Rajya Sabha seat going for by-poll in Odisha. On Tuesday, she was declared as BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidate.

During the filing of nomination, she was accompanied by Odisha CM Mohan Majhi, several BJP MLAs, and other BJP leaders. ,  the popular Kudumi community leader reached the Vidhan Sabha to file her nominations. The by-poll is to be held on September 3.

She recently resigned from the BJD and Rajya Sabha to join the saffron party.

As BJP has a majority in the Odisha Assembly, Mamata is expected to win without any hiccups.
