Man Behind Hoax Bomb Threat Call to Karnataka Raj Bhavan Arrested

Bengaluru: A 34-year-old B.Com graduate was arrested for making a hoax call about a bomb planted inside the Karnataka Raj Bhavan premises. The man identified as Bhaskar from Vadahalli village in Mulbagal taluk of Kolar district was nabbed from Chittoor in Karnataka.

On December 11 night, he made a phone call claiming that a bomb was planted inside the Raj Bhavan premises and could go off anytime.

But an intense search proved that it was a hoax call. It was revealed that the accused, while in Bengaluru on December 11 searched for the contact number of NIA’s control room on Google and made the hoax call.

Using technical surveillance, the police traced the caller to Chittoor from where he was arrested on Tuesday night.  It was found that the accused made the call out of curiosity without thinking of the consequences of his action.

The arrested man has no previous criminal record.
