Ranchi: Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren preferred to skip the sixth summons of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to appear at its Ranchi office on Tuesday. Soren addressed a rally at Dumka instead.
The Jharkhand CM passed by the ED office on the way to Ranchi airport to leave for Dumka to address a rally as part of the third phase of the Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar, Apke Dwar program.
At around 3.30 pm, a messenger from the CM’s office handed over a sealed letter to the ED. According to reports, through this letter, Soren sought more time from the ED and also asked for an explanation about in what capacity the summons had been issued to him.
On Sunday, the ED had issued the sixth summons to Soren for questioning in an alleged money laundering case linked to a land scam in Ranchi.
