Man Poisons 2 Tigers in Tamil Nadu, Arrested

Chennai: A man named Sekar was arrested in connection with the death of two tigresses in Nilgiris recently. Both tigresses were found to have died of poisoning.

After discovering the carcasses of the wild cats near Avalanche, forest officials launched a probe and sent tissue samples for forensic analysis.

A carcass of a cow was also located near the bodies of the two dead tigresses. Investigation revealed that Sekar’s cow was missing.

After finding his cow’s remains, Sekar had allegedly laced the cow’s carcass with pesticide. The two tigresses ate the poisoned meat and died.

During the past one month six tigers have died in the Nilgiris.
