Man Thrashed to Death at Biryani Joint for Asking Extra Raita

Hyderabad: A 32-year-old man was allegedly thrashed to death on Sunday night at the Meridian Restaurant, a famous biryani joint in Hyderabad, for asking for some extra raita.

The deceased, identified as Liyaqat, who was relishing biryani at the restaurant with a group of friends, entered into into an argument with the hotel staff when asked for some extra raita. The altercation turned into a violent clash.

Both groups attacked each other. The hotel staff including its manager beat up Liqayat lethally.

The matter reached the Panjagutta police station at around 11 pm. But by that time Liyaqat complained of loss of breath and chest pain, and within minutes, he collapsed on the floor.

Although he was rushed to a nearby hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.

He is suspected to have died of cardiac arrest. The exact reason for his death will be ascertained following the post mortem.
