Manipur Naked Parade Case: Another Accused Arrested, Probe Continues

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced the arrest of another suspect linked to the shocking case of two women paraded naked in the state. This recent development comes in the wake of nationwide outrage over the incident.

The state police have already arrested a 32-year-old man named Heradas, who was captured in a viral video dragging one of the women. The police faced severe criticism for the delay in addressing the crime, which occurred more than 70 days ago.

The Chief Minister strongly condemned the heinous act, terming it a crime against humanity. He assured that further investigations are underway, and all those involved will be arrested and prosecuted according to the law. Additionally, the state has declared its intention to seek the death penalty for the perpetrators.

Amidst the ongoing investigations, the plea to the public is to foster respect and safety for women, sisters, and elders, aiming to make this the last incident of its kind. Upholding the dignity and honour of women and elders is of utmost importance in society.
