Odisha’s First Professional Chess Training Academy Inaugurated

Bhubaneswar: Odisha celebrated International Chess Day on July 20th with the inauguration of the state’s first-ever Professional Chess Training Academy, called ‘PRO-CHESS-TA.’

The academy was inaugurated by Odisha Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera, who also felicitated Padmini Rout, the reigning national women’s chess champion, for her outstanding performance in the 49th National Women’s Chess Championship. Padmini is an International Master (IM) and Woman Grandmaster, serving as an inspiration to aspiring chess players across the nation.

The academy, under the guidance of Fide Trainer and International Master Satyapragyan, is committed to helping students develop their chess talent to new heights. The academy offers a variety of programs for students of all ages and skill levels, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced courses.

The academy is also equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including chessboards, clocks, and other equipment. Additionally, the academy has a team of experienced and qualified coaches who are dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.

The inauguration of the PRO-CHESS-TA is a significant step in the development of chess in Odisha. The academy has the potential to nurture the next generation of chess champions and help Odisha become a leading chess hub in the country.
