Multiple Terror Attacks Claim Over 70 Lives in Pakistan’s Balochistan

More than 70 persons died in multiple incidents of terror attacks in the Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan.

According to the Pakistan military, 14 soldiers and police as well as 21 terrorists were killed in fighting in a major attack that targeted vehicles on a major highway in Bela, reported Al Jazeera.

In another attack in Musakhel district, at least 23 civilians were killed. The armed attackers stopped their vehicles, checked their IDs to determine if they were from Punjab, and were shot dead. The militants also set 35 vehicles ablaze.

Ten people — five police and five civilians — were reportedly killed in Kalat in an attack on a police post and a highway.

On Monday, a blast on a railway bridge in Bolan stalled rail traffic to Quetta from rest of Pakistan. Six unidentified bodies were found by the police near the attack site on the railway bridge.

The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has warned people to stay away from highways in the province.

According to local media, 12 rebel fighters were killed by security forces throughout the province in the past 24 hours.
