Mumbai: After a gap of eight years, Mumbai extended its record by winning the 42nd Ranji Trophy title on Thursday. Mumbai beat Vidarbha by 169 runs on the fifth and final day to win the tournament.
It was Mumbai’s 48th final in the 90 years of the Ranji Trophy tournament’s history played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. The hosts set a 538-run target for the visiting Vidarbha team.
Vidarbha resumed on 248 for five, needing another 290 runs to win. The team was eventually bowled out by Mumbai for 368.
