Odisha CM Announces Rs 1.5 Cr for Star Javeline Thrower Kishore Jena

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a cash award of Rs 1.5 crore for Odia star javelin thrower Kishore Kumar Jena.

Kishore bagged a silver medal at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou, China with a personal best of 87.54 m. With this feat, Kishore has also qualified for the Paris Olympics.

In a statement, CM Naveen Patnaik said, “The award is in recognition of his stellar performance, his perseverance and determination. I congratulate him on his win at the Asian Games and also qualifying for the Paris Olympics. Kishore’s triumph not only reflects personal excellence but also serves as an inspiration for budding athletes across the country.”

The CM assured all support to Kishore for the preparation for the Olympics in 2024.
