Odisha Ministerial Staff Call Off State-Wide Strike

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government’s ministerial staff (Amala) decided to call off their statewide cease-work agitation on Wednesday following an assurance from 5T Chairman VK Pandian.

The convenor of the Odisha Amala Sangha, Chittaranjan Tarasia, told newsmen that the government has assured to fulfill their demands within 10 days.

Under the banner of Odisha Amala Sangha, around 30,000 ministerial officers (Amala) of 32 departments had threatened to launch cease-work agitation and go on mass leave. Their demands include a raise in grade pay and other perks from the government.

The association had earlier put its state-wide agitation on hold, sixteen days after its launch on June 1.
