Odisha Police Officer’s Rifle Stolen in Bhubaneswar During President’s Visit

Bhubaneswar: An INSAS rifle issued to a police officer was allegedly stolen during the recent visit of President Droupadi Murmu to Odisha last week.

The officer, identified as P Lachhmaya, who was on duty at the 7th Battalion, alleged that his INSAS rifle was stolen.

Lachhmaya has complained about the alleged theft of his INSAS rifle at the Maitri Vihar Police Station in Bhubaneswar.

Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh told the media that the police are treating the matter with utmost seriousness and thorough investigation is on to recover the rifle promptly. Added to it, officers within the battalion are also conducting an investigation.
