Odisha to Reimburse Course Fees of ST & SC Students Studying in Govt Medical, Engineering Institutes

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government’s ST & SC Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department has reimburse the entire course fees of eligible ST and SC students studying MBBS and engineering (B-Tech and M-Tech) at various government-run institutions.

This financial assistance to the ST & SC students would be provided through Mukhyamantri Medhabi Chhatra Protshan Yojana (MMCPY).

According to reports, the course fees include admission charge /seat acceptance charge, initial deposit, Annual Course Fee (Tuition Fee and all compulsory payble charges to the institution), Hostel Admission charges and annual Hostel/Mess charges and any other incidental expenses for study like purchase of books/study materials coaching /tutorial expenses. This scheme will be meant for all eligible ST and SC students from the year 2023-24 onwards. The departmental Commissioner-cum-Secretary Roopa Roshan Sahoo has informed all district Collectors regarding it through a letter.
