Odisha Vigilance Arrests Chatrapur BEO for Possessing Disproportionate Assets

Ganjam: Odisha Vigilance on Sunday arrested Sitaram Patro, the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Chhatrapur, Ganjam, for allegedly possessing assets that far exceed his known sources of income.

The anti-corruption agency conducted multiple raids at properties linked to Patro, uncovering disproportionate assets including three multi-storey buildings, deposits totalling over ₹35.61 lakhs, cash amounting to ₹6.50 lakhs, and a four-wheeler, all of which Patro failed to explain satisfactorily.

He was subsequently arrested and is expected to be presented in court today, according to Vigilance officials. A case has been registered against him, and further investigations are ongoing.
