Orissa HC Pronounces Judgment in Odia for 1st Time to Mark 75th Foundation Day

Cuttack: To commemorate its 75 years of establishment, the Orissa High Court on Tuesday pronounced a verdict in Odia for the first time.

President Droupadi Murmu will grace the valedictory function of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Orissa High Court.

Justice Sanjeeb Kumar Panigrahi pronounced the judgment of a case in Odia on Tuesday. The court had heard the writ petition on July 19 and reserved its verdict. The 41-page verdict was completely in Odia.

The verdict has been pronounced in Odia for easy understanding of the people made parties in the case, the court said in a statement.

On July 24, Orissa High Court delivered 75 judgments to mark its 75 years of history.

Orissa High Court was established on July 26, 1948, with only four judges, including Chief Justice Bira Kishore Ray.
