According to the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), which manages the annual pilgrimage to the Himalayan hill shrine, the yatra started on June 29 this year. It will conclude after 52 days on August 29 coinciding with Shravan Purnima and Raksha Bandhan festivals.

On Saturday, around 8,000 pilgrims reached the cave shrine. Another batch of 1,677 pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu for darshan of Lord Amarnath on Sunday.

The Amarnath Yatra is continuing peacefully and smoothly this year due to strict vigil of CAPF and J&K Police personnel.
