PM Modi Wraps Up Qatar Visit, Paves Way for Enhanced Cooperation

Doha: Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his brief visit to Qatar on Thursday, emphasizing its success in strengthening the bilateral relationship and expressing India’s desire to expand cooperation in key areas.

The visit, PM Modi’s second since 2014, included crucial talks with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, centring on significantly boosting ties in trade, energy, investment, and new technologies.

“My visit to Qatar has added new vigour to the India-Qatar friendship,” PM Modi tweeted, highlighting India’s eagerness to “scale up cooperation in key sectors relating to trade, investment, technology and culture.” He expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by Qatar.

Earlier, PM Modi met with Father Amir Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani in Doha, commending his leadership in driving Qatar’s development. The two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen India-Qatar relations.

Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra revealed that PM Modi extended an invitation to Emir Hamad Al-Thani to visit India.

The Qatar visit concluded PM Modi’s busy tour of the UAE, where he addressed a large Indian community gathering, spoke at the World Governments Summit and inaugurated the UAE’s first Hindu stone temple.
