Rahul Dravid May Not Continue as India Coach, VVS Laxman May Take Over: Reports

New Delhi: Rahul Dravid is not interested in continuing as the head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team, and National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief VVS Laxman may take over from him, reported NDTV quoting its sources.

Dravid’s contract ended following the conclusion of the ODI World Cup a week back. According to sources, he is not interested to renew the contract.

Former India batter Laxman is likely to take charge as the head coach. Laxman is the designated head coach for the five-match T20I series against Australia.

Dravid was appointed head coach of Team India in 2021. During his tenure, India reached the finals of the ICC World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup, but lost to Australia on both occasions. They also reached the semi-final of the T20 World Cup last year, getting defeated by England. But India won the Asia Cup with Dravid as coach.
