Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Visit Landslide Affected Area in Wayanad

Wayanad: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra visited the landslide-affected area of Chooralmala in the Wayanad district of Kerala on Thursday afternoon. AICC general secretary and Alappuzha MP K C Venugopal is also with them.

Rahul Gandhi is the former Wayanad MP. Priyanka is expected to contest when a by-election is held in Wayanad.

They landed at Kannur airport at 9.30 am and then reachd Wayanad by road.

According to Congress party sources, Gandhi and his sister visited the Community Health Centre in Meppadi, Dr Moopen’s Medical College and two relief camps at Meppadi.

Rahul Gandhi won from the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in the 2019 general elections as well this year. He also won from the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh and gave up the Wayanad constituency.

Massive landslides triggered by torrential rains hit Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala, and Noolpuzha hamlets in the early hours of Tuesday, killing over 173 people.
