Retired CDMO Stabbed Several Times in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: Dr Raghunath Padhi, a retired Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) was stabbed multiple times at his home under Bhadrak town police station in the wee hours of Friday.

Dr Padhi was the CDMO of Jajpur. After retirement, he stays with his family in Bhadrak.

Seriously injured Dr Padhi was admitted to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital.

According to Dr Padhi, at around 4.30 am when he tried to go into his puja room, he saw the shadow of a man in front of him. When he tried to shout to alarm others, the miscreant attacked him with a sharp weapon. He was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen, thigh, chest and hand.

Dr Padhi suspected that the assailant was one of the drug addicts who regularly consumed banned drugs near his house. It is also suspected that the attack on the retired doctor may be the result of a failed dacoity attempt.

Gold jewellery worth over lakhs of rupees was looted from his home in October this year.
