Russian Prez Putin May not Attend G20 Summit in Delhi

Russian government on Friday said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no plans to physically attend the G20 summit in India in September.

This is because of the fact that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for Putin accusing him of war crimes in Ukraine.

This ICC arrest warrant increases the risk of Putin’s arrest when is travelling abroad. So, he is expected to miss the G20 Summit in Delhi. He may address the summit through video conferencing.

Earlier this week Putin took part in the BRICS group meeting in South Africa via video link instead of attending in person. not in person.

The G20 summit in New Delhi is scheduled to be held from September 9-10.
